Ways to Save Money as an SLP Entrepreneur

As an SLP Entrepreneur, you may find yourself needing printing services that your home printer can’t handle or needing office supplies to start your home office. Take a look at these two ways to save money with a membership you already have.

ASHA & Office Max/Office Depot

Our membership to the American Speech-Language Hearing Association provides us with access to a Store Purchasing Card (SPC) at Office Depot/Office Max. Some ASHA members may have received a card and key tag in the mail. If not, then go to the  ASHA website to print your free Store Purchasing Card and learn more.

This SPC provides significant discounts to various products at Office Depot/Office Depot. Before you make your purchase in person, let the clerk that you have a SPC. The clerk will manually enter the card into the register to reflect your discount. If you’re shopping online, go here to shop.

I find the most significant savings when using their copying and printing services. You can enter the SPC in the card reader if you’re doing self-serve copies and the discounted price will be reflected. Color copies are $.22 while black and white copies are $.025. Once, when I paid for a color printing order and presented my SPC, the clerk told me “this card is gold in discounts.”

AAA & UPS

Membership in AAA means that you are eligible for printing and shipping discounts at UPS. In recent years, I’ve used my AAA membership more at UPS than I have for roadside services.

Saving money is always helpful when starting and continuing on your entrepreneurial journey, especially when it means utilizing resources you may already have.
